World Hypertension Day

World Hypertension Day, observed annually on May 17, is initiated by the World Hypertension League. It aims to raise awareness about hypertension and promote its prevention, detection, and control. The day emphasises the importance of regular blood pressure measurements and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The theme for the five-year period 2013-2018 was “Know Your Numbers” to increase high blood pressure awareness globally.
