Webinar - Managing Hypertension in the Workplace

We welcome as guest speaker for this event Dr Amit Pasan, GP and Clinical Lead at Teladoc Health, our virtual GP and Second Medical Opinion service provider.

Almost a third (30%) of all adults in the UK has hypertension* (persistent high blood pressure); an important public health challenge considering its high prevalence and the associated risk of heart failure, coronary artery disease and stroke. At the same time, it is one of the most preventable and treatable causes of premature deaths worldwide, according to the World Health Organisation.**

Although prevalence increases with age – with the over 65s most impacted - still around 1 in 10 (9%) working age adults is estimated to have hypertension.*

So, the workplace arguably has a role in helping people make the simple lifestyle changes needed to prevent high blood pressure; from diet and exercise to helping reduce work-related stress.

Dr Pasan will consider the risk factors and how employers can practically help, including how services as part of Group Income Protection can be best utilised to support employees, whether absent from work or not.
