Generali UK work experience branded a huge success
Last week our UK Branch enjoyed work experience week in our London office, hosting five students from Harris Westminster Sixth Form.
Facilitated by Wiseup Networks, the Pathfinder Programme aims to change the way young people from all backgrounds gain insight and access to the world of work. Also, crucially, helping them build their first networks to help kickstart their careers.
The students enjoyed a full schedule during the week, which culminated in each presenting their final projects to their Generali UK mentors, to help showcase how much they had learned during the week.
All our mentors were trained by Wiseup Networks, prior to delivering 1-2-1 mentoring to their 16-18 year old mentees, providing support before, during and after the work experience.
Tom Lewis, Operations Lead at Wiseup Network, said: "Hearing the student's takeaways and that the mentoring/work experience has improved their understand and outlook of the workplace after this programme was so uplifting. It's been an absolute pleasure working with Generali."
Tracey Ward, Head of Business Development and Marketing at Generali UK Employee Benefits, commented: "I would thoroughly recommend participating in an initiative like Pathfinders from Wiseup Network. Getting to know the students, answering their intelligent questions and listening to their key takeaways and observations, confirmed to me the power of a carefully designed work experience programme."
This initiative reaffirms the value of what we do for our policyholders and their employees and provided a great sense of hope for young adults just starting to think about how a career, in whichever sector, has the ability to bring fulfilment and purpose.
Thank you to Tom Lewis, Joe Wood, Graham Wood at Wiseup Networks. And, of course, our students Dante Warren-Smith, Max Harris, Plevinas Tampwhuo-Eyab, Tina Wang and David Aseidu.
